Qualcomm QCC5181 (S5 Gen 2 Sound Platform)
A premium tier, ultra-low power, single-chip audio platform with a programmable DSP, optimized for use in true wireless earbuds, speakers and stereo headsets.
Qualcomm® QCC5181 is designed for premium and immersive sound across devices, enabled to support LE Audio and Auracast™ broadcast audio capabilities, 3rd Gen Qualcomm® Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Snapdragon Sound™ technology capabilities such as Dynamic Spatial Audio with earbud headtracking, lossless audio, and stereo recording to help creators record content with immersive binaural audio.
As consumers demand smarter more powerful devices, and demand for smaller form factors in true wireless earbuds continues to grow, the QCC5181 WLCSP package is designed to help manufacturers develop a wide range of products, from ultra-small earbuds that are comfortable enough to be worn for long periods of time through to stereo headsets, and wireless speakers.
Delivering new user experiences with Bluetooth® LE Audio
This dual-mode platform with Bluetooth 5.4 functionality integrates the best of LE Audio and classic Bluetooth to enable smooth feature adoption of LE Audio for real-world scenarios. LE Audio features include Unicast Voice, Unicast Music and a low latency gaming mode (latency under 50msecs). For earbuds, the QCC5181 enables support for Auracast™ broadcast audio capability. Auracast™ will also enable locations to broadcast Bluetooth audio to enhance the visitor experience, for example tuning into a shared TV in an airport, bar, or gymnasium.
Exceptional sound across devices with Snapdragon Sound
Designed for Snapdragon Sound, the QCC5181 supports CD-lossless audio with enhanced robustness. When using a smartphone with a Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, the gaming mode offers lower end to end latency of just 48ms, including a voice back-channel for in-game chat. Designed to bring the best experience possible for hands free calling, these platforms also support 32kHz super wideband voice calls for crystal clear calls, with aptX Voice technology, and up to 3-microphone Qualcomm® cVc™ Echo Cancelling and Noise Suppression (ECNS).
Immersive sound experiences with Dynamic Spatial Audio
This solution is designed to optimize round trip latency between smartphone and earbuds to a more natural and immersive spatial audio experience. On the phone, the spatialization and stereo rotation is supported by Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2, and on the earbud side the QCC5181 delivers earbud to earbud cross head rotation alignment, low power consumption for the earbuds for longer periods of wear, optimised latency for a lag free experience and our own proprietary head orientation algorithm.
Integrated, hybrid adaptive noise cancellation
The QCC5181 supports 3rd generation Qualcomm® Hybrid Adaptive ANC, which improves the listener experience by providing increased precision and noise cancelling depth, solving commonly faced issues such as wind noise or howling, with fast and reliable detection. The SoC provides a natural full band Transparency mode (sampled at 64KHz), with effective occlusion mitigation delivering an instinctive and reliable talking experience. This great experience during conversations is enhanced by the SoC’s automatic speech detection. The QCC5181’s adaptive technology applied to ANC and Transparency modes supports smooth transitions between immersive noise cancelling and natural sounding pass-through when a listener needs to hear the world around them. It also brings adaptive noise cancelling to earbuds, with its low power, wireless tuning.7
